WXYZ Detroit helped to promote EDSI Livonia's efforts to connect jobseekers and employers at a local job fair.
Produced by the Richmond-based consulting agency Magnum Economics and the Michigan-based consultant Educational Data Systems Inc. (EDSI), the report features data gathered from a combination of surveys, one-on-one interviews with employers, and a gap analysis based on occupation projections for the region and the number of workers coming out of established education and training pipelines.
EDSI was recognized as a "Top WorkPlace," a "Cool Places to Work," a "Best and Brightest Company," and a "Sustainability" leader as 2016 came to a close.
Northwestern University's School of Education and Social Policy published a student profile on Kevin Schnieders in the fall of 2015. Kevin is now a proud graduate of the Master of Science in Learning and Organizational Change (MSLOC) program.
EDSI has been honored with a 2016 When Work Works Award for its use of effective workplace strategies to increase business and employee success.This prestigious award, part of the national When Work Works project administered by the Families and Work Institute (FWI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), recognizes employers of all sizes and types in Michigan and across the country. Applicants are evaluated on factors associated with employee health, well-being and engagement.

Along with experts in the field, EDSI’s Ken Mall was invited to present on best practices and people management at the recent CAI HR Management Conference in Raleigh, NC. Ken’s presentation, “A Data-Driven Approach to Closing the Skills Gap and Knowledge Retention,” focused on identifying and transferring critical and at-risk knowledge within organizations.
EDSI is launching a new Backpacks to Briefcases (B2B) program in New Hanover County, NC, in partnership with the New Hanover County Workforce Development Center. B2B is a national employment and leadership program connecting recent college graduates with local businesses. Its aim is to improve area workforce development through paid internships at no cost to either the participant or business. The program is funded through the Workforce Investment Opportunity Act.
In addition to the four awards EDSI was recently awarded this fall, the company was honored to have been named as one of the 2015 National Best & Brightest Companies to Work For®.
